Join the Band Wagon...It's not full yet!

Well, I figure since everyone else is doing it, I will blog my life story as well. A great philosophy to live by:

Do as others...or get left behind

Just kidding. I know, you're probably wondering why you're reading this. Is it the intriguing title of this blog (highly unlikely, I just couldn't think of anything better at the time), is it the author (probably more realistic), or is it your undeniable curiosity of what the life not wasted is (we will journey through this together)?

Well I will tell you a little about myself. My name is Kari Lopez. I am in nursing school and I will graduate just shy of 5 months. Then I will not let my nose out of a book (a nursing book, that is) until I pass the nursing boards and become certified as a Registered Nurse. From there I will venture on to find a good job until I can become a Labor and Delivery nurse. After I experience 2 years of L&D, as we call it, I will come to the inevitable fork in the road: more school to become a Nurse Midwife, or Travel the United States. Quite a journey I will embark upon, I just wish I weren't standing still at the moment.

Right now the above paragraph is how I am going to define myself for you. But is that really enough of who I am? And I am not talking about simplistic, mind numbing details like, my favorite color or my favorite number. Am I just floating through life finding new ways to enhance who I am? Am I wasting this life I have been generously given and, so far, have been able to keep for 21 years? I mean all I have to show for the past two decades is a high school degree, a fairly good job, and somewhat of a musical talent. But is that really what it's all about? Is it really all about me and what I have done? Is my life wasted if I haven't made much of myself or is it something bigger?

That is what I want to share. My journey through this life to find out what my life can mean. And I will also share the occasional big event in my life. Don't worry this won't always being so, oh what is the word for it, thoughtful? deep? mind-provoking?

Oh...right...BORING!
